October 2007 marks the third Australian Olive Expo. The Australian Olive Expo will be held at Exhibition Park in Canberra on 30-31 October featuring key suppliers including quite a few newcomers, who will exhibit and support this event which is designed for everyone in the industry to be able to learn and update the necessary skills to keep improving olive production in this country.
This year, water for irrigation and associated issues are high on the agenda of the comprehensive seminar program. Table olives are dealt with in detail with the expertise from the Institute De La Grasa CSIC in Spain leading the section on that topic.
Other features of the expo include more than 150 static and working displays, dedicated olivegrove to demonstrate production & harvesting, 11th National Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards, Australian olive product tastings, the latest in olive production technology, Australia’s largest olive industry gathering and the Table Olive Awards.
