The fourth year of the NSW Northern Olive Oil show saw 34 oils entered from 17 exhibitors across Australia. Of the 34 oils entered, 17 gained medal status.

In a recent press release, John Attwood from the NSW Northern Olive Oil show, thanked the judging panel for their professionalism and enthusiasm for quality oils, and for their dedication to finding the best oils.

“It is important for our industry that shows such as this be well presented, and well judged, so producers gain an insight into the qualities of a good oil,” Attwood said.

“We are indebted to our sponsors, The Olive Centre, The Essential Ingredient, AgroBest, Ryan Publications, DA & CL Evans, John Colville and Belwood Grove, all of whom supported the show with donations in cash and kind. Without this support the show would not be able to run.

“Last, but not least, I wish to record my thanks for the support and assistance of Adele Mazoudier, both during the show and at the presentation. I would also like to thank the Board of TADOGA for their support and help, and the Tamworth P & A Association for their help in providing ribbons for medal winners and for acting as a collection point for the entries. Without these people working in the background, the show would not have gone nearly as smoothly.”

Best in show was awarded to Joe and Carol Re of NSW’s Broke’s Promise Duetto (a Correggiolo/Paragon blend) in the large volume mild category. Joe and Carol Rewill will celebrate their win with a free one year subscription to the Australian and New Zealand Olivegrower & Processor journal.

The Gold Award was awarded to Ian Fraser and Jennifer Davidson of Lyric Olives in Rutherglen, VIC.
