Olives South Australia Inc will hold its 2009 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 24th November 2009, in the Board Room at Hurleys Arkaba Hotel, Cnr of Fullarton and Glen Osmond Roads.

The programme will commence at 6.00pm with supper and registration, followed at 7.00pm by the AGM which will conclude by 9.00pm.

Olives SA President Lisa Rowntree says the AGM program is of relevance to all olive industry participants, and will include the following presentations:

o National & International Olive Industry Update – Paul Miller, AOA President

o Australian Extra Virgin Consumer Education Program & Industry Code of Practice Update – John Forrest, AOA Industry Development Officer

o SA Industry Report – Lisa Rowntree, Olives SA President, and AOA Director

o The SA Olive Industry Fund Plan Update – Peter McFarlane, McFarlane Strategic Services.

Olives SA is also calling for nominations from industry participants to form its 2010 Board of Management. Nominations close at 9.00am on Monday 26 October 2009. The election of the new Board will be finalised at the AGM.

Lisa Rowntree whose position along with 5 other Board Members is up for re-election, says it is critical to the success of the State Olive Industry that all Board Members are committed to building and sustaining a viable olive industry in South Australia. This requires them to be enthusiastic, passionate and willing to commit their time to the industry as required, especially given the Board now has the additional responsibility to plan and deliver projects and services funded by the new Olive Industry Fund that now operates under the Primary Industry Funding Schemes Act 1998, to which all South Australian olivegrowers are now contributing.

All Board nomination enquiries including requests for forms should be directed to the Returning Officer, Peter McFarlane on phone 0418 839 836 or email; peter@mc.com.au

A reminder also to book for a great night out at the 13th Annual Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards and 9th Annual Table Olive Awards dinner to be held on Friday 30th October at TAFE SA’s Martinhas Restaurant in Light Square Adelaide.
