Spain is the world’s number one producer and exporter of olive oil. As one of its main importers, Australia is no stranger to the quality of Spanish Olive Oil. This year Spain is producing some of the best organic olive oils and receiving a variety of awards.

On November 17, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Australia will hold the WOT (Wine, Olive Oil and Tapas) tasting event in Melbourne to celebrate and further promote Spanish organic olive oils. WOT is guaranteed to make any palette come alive.

WOT will give the Australian public a chance to taste some of Spain’s finest and award winning organic Olive oils that are now available locally. Guests will have the pleasure of tasting six tapas, six organic Spanish Olive Oils and four glasses of Spanish wines.

WOT will present Olive Oil expert Simon Field who will demonstrate how to execute an olive oil tasting. Simon is a former Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and a member of the Board of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture of the University of Melbourne.

Wine will be supplied by Australia’s leading importers of Spanish wines, The Spanish Acquisition and Freixenet.
