The new Labor Government has moved quickly to change Australia’s workplace relations laws. The abolition of AWAs are only the first of a series of changes to be rolled out between now and the start of 2010.

“These workplace relations changes will be significant and businesses need to be aware of the implications of the changes and ensure they are compliant with any new laws”, says VECCI Head of Workplace Relations, David Gregory.

VECCI are presenting a number of briefings to inform Victorian businesses about what lies ahead in the areas of workplace reform and the potential implications for business including:

• the 10 new National Employment Standards
• annual minimum wage reviews
• the end of AWAs and new interim Transitional Employment Agreements
• new ‘good faith bargaining’ obligations
• new agreement making
• restored unfair dismissal rights
• the new Fair Work Australia body.

The briefings will be held in both metropolitan and regional Victoria:

Tuesday 1 April – Traralgon
